I'm Laura, the face behind this blog.
I created this blog because I felt that as a mother of 7 children (and potentially more) it was important I share our life with you all. There is a misconception that mothers of many kids are saints, have tons of patience, or are supermoms. There's a misconception in our culture that children are burdens, and that to have more than one or two is insanity. This blog, I hope, will dispell some of those misconceptions and give people a glimpse into the life of a large family.
I am very passionate about homeschooling. I am currently in my 3rd year of homeschool, and I LOVE IT!
I was diagnosed with Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome in 2014. I have been actively researching natural hormone replacement therapy and alternative ways to help with my PCOS.
I follow the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan found in the book, Trim Healthy Mama; written by sisters Pearl Barrett and Serene Allison. I share recipes, recipe round ups, and reviews on my blog.

OUR FAMILY
My husband, Bram, is 34 and works at our local nuclear plant. He likes to workout and do mud run obstacle courses. He is a 4x Tough Mudder legionnaire. I am 26 and am a stay-at-home wife and mother. I love to crochet (you can find me on Facebook here: For the Luv of Yarn), workout, make deco-mesh wreaths, and do mud run obstacle courses. I did my first Dirty Girl Mud Run in August 2016, and my first Tough Mudder in October 2016 with my husband. We married in August of 2008.
This is Fionna Grace. She is 8 years old. She loves Princesses, Ponies, and all things glitter.
This is Tiernan James. He is 7 years old. He is currently obsessed with LEGOs and Star Wars.
This is Kayson Frederick. He is 6 years old. He loves Spiderman, LEGOs, and School!
This is Liam Martel. He is 5 years old. He loves Batman, Hulk, and anything green. He has the prettiest blue eyes just like his Daddy.
This is Ronan Augustine. He is 4 years old. He loves Batman, food, and Dinosaurs. He is a real sweetheart, too.
This is Winry Rose. She is 2. She loves to play with ponies and dolls, and get crazy with her siblings.
*In August of 2016, we found out we were expecting #7. Sadly, on September 11, 2016, the Lord saw fit to bring our baby to Heaven. Darcy "Bubbles" Sortwell was born into heaven at 10 weeks gestation. We cannot wait to meet our child in heaven some day.
Our Rainbow Baby was discovered on the day we were due with Darcy, April 7, 2017. The first 10 weeks were filled with fear, but the Lord has blessed us and allowed our daughter to stay with us! Teylie Robin Sortwell is due on December 23, 2017.
This is our Boxer puppy, Dixon. He is so loved by everyone, and for the most part; he is a great dog.
